Historic
Apartments in Paris,
Apartments in Montmartre, Villa of Impressionism and Surrealism,
Garden, Historic Monument,
Home of Joan Miro, Max Ernst, Toulouse Lautrec...,
2nd floor (US), 2 rooms
1. Description
of the apartment

This 2 rooms
apartment is located in the City of Artists -- where Miro, Ernst
and Toulouse Lautrec lived and worked. It's in the very best part
of Montmartre, in a rich and quiet area.
This place
was once the hose of Impressionism and Surrealism and became the
Museum of Montmartre
Ye t
it's only 200m from the center of Montmartre. Shops
and restaurants are nearby. Two metro stations are close by: Abbesses
and Place de Clichy. From there you can be anywhere in Paris in
20 minutes.
The apartment
looks out on a marvellous, large, quiet, private park, a historic
monument, a very rare place in Paris. In the park there
are artist's ateliers, and plenty of souvenirs of different periods.
If you choose this place you will have to respect it and admire
it in silence.
This apartment was totally renewed in August 2002; and everything
is totally new. It is fully furnished, and is composed of two
rooms, a kitchen, and a bathroom.
One
bedroom is large, there is a big window looking out on to the
garden, and a high-quality double bed, a desk, and a wardrobe.
The TV, phone, and Internet connection are also there. The floor
is original -- from 19th century -- but is also refurbished throughout
the apartment.
The living room has a big window looking out on to the garden,
a double high-quality convertible sofa bed, and a small tea table.
The kitchen has a two- to four-person table with four chairs,
as well as a large window looking out on to the street side (though
it's far away from the street). Kitchen amenities include a high-quality
microwave, cookers, a refrigerator, and all the necessary furniture
(totally new).
The bathroom
is independently accessible from both rooms, and has a large shower
and toilet (new).
2. Description
of the villa
: Les Fusains

Les

The
building and the flat have been renewed this year.
Because
of its beauty it is declared as a Historical Monument and
protected by the state. From the windows of the flat (2nd
floor) you see the wonderful garden, and the only noise you will hear is the singing of birds.
The respect of this beauty, peace and silence is an important
condition of your stay in this place.

3. The area
: Montmartre / Caulaincourt
Les Fusains
is in rue Tourlaque , the North West corner of Montmartre near
Junot & Caulaincourt (the richest part of Montmartre). 5min
from Abbesses, near the tourist area, but very quiet. Metro and
bus stations are around.
Rue Caulaincourt is a typical Haussmannien avenue. It is climbing
over the Montmartre bridge from the western side to the top of
the hill. It is planted with acacia trees and rich, sculptured
stone buildings. Rue Damremont is also a Haussmannien avenue but
a more commercial area. Here you will find all the shops to survive
in Paris. Some of them are basic and cheap, some others exclusive
and expensive, some are open 7 by 7. Anyhow you will find there
everything you need.
4.
Paris a Museum:
Out of time and out of space.
Here is the
best place to feel like a permanent museum guest. You live in
the ancient museum of Montmartre. In your apartment, between 1890
and 2000, lived 5 generations of artists. The last owner was a
world wild known clown. But before, many artist , I have mentioned
several times in this site, worked and lived here. You can still
meet some of them in the garden: those from the past : because
the garden is plenty of their souvenirs; those from the present:
because most of the inhabitants are painters, sculptors, actors,
film directors, architects, photographs .. Those from the future,
because the atmosphere of this place , out of time and out of
space, making you feel like you are flying
Les Fusains
are located inside Montmartre , a North Centre of PARIS.
Because it is only 2 metro stops from Saint Lazare (main Transport
node in Paris) it is very easy and fast to go everywhere inside
and outside PARIS from there.
Many more central places exist in Paris but are not as good from
the transport point of view
If you prefer
to go by bus (before or after rush hours, or during the weekend)
there are 2 buses 1 min from home (80 and 95) and 10 buses going
everywhere in Paris, if you walk (5min) to Place de Clichy. The
Bus Nr 80 is very comfortable and new . From its grand windows
you can visit (for 1 metro/bus ticket) 30% of Paris St Lazare,
Champs Elysées, The Seine river, Invalides
